Thomas Winter: Sponsorship Profile

Introduction

I may seem like another boy trying to get free stuff, but I am much more. I am really into giving back to the community. If that means reffing the junior games after my training session to ensure they get the most out of their session, you can count on me being there! I know when I was a kid I would look up to the older guys reffing my game, always trying to impress them. It's not much but the impact it made on my sporting career, I can only hope that it has the same effect for them. Talking to other riders and athletes they all say I need a point of difference. So, what's mine? The bubbly, chatterbox teen is a given, but there's more. I would love to work alongside you and your company's charity of choice. We can talk about volunteering time or something like that, if you are interested.  So yeah, I’m Thomas Winter.

What Are You Going To Get?

What Would I Like In Return?

I am quite a simple person. I don't want much, some products that I can use on my bike and some financial support. If you would like to send some merchandise as well that would be sic. I want to be a part of your company brand and help wherever I can. If that is going to races that you sponsor or something like that we can talk about that later on. These can all be changed around to suit your business. 

Currently I am funding my own bikes and maintenance through my refereeing and my coaching (and the bank of Mum and Dad !).   What I would like to setup is a sponsors fund for travel and accommodation to allow me to enter more races and work on my dream of becoming a professional athlete.

Coaching for Dirtcraft has been a grate thing for me to start doing. I love working with the kids that have a thriving passion for the sport. For me seeing them work though there struggles to become a better rider is the best to see. Working with primary and intermediate kids is challenging but so fun, they take everything on board and just bring some humor in my your day. They love to talk about bikes and what things I am getting up to and when they get something new come talk to me about it. Coaching them is always good time, they love just riding and they seem to like it when we give them some freedom around there learning if it includes jumps and not climbing.

Thomas is more than a friendly face. He has the conversation and passion to match it. Tom’s riding is rapidly catching his peers, and his ability to communicate and connect with the kids makes him an excellent coach. Thomas is still juggling Enduro, coaching and basketball all to a high level. Thus making him a great ambassador for the ‘balance is better’ mindset from SportNZ, as we encourage all our riders to participate in multiple sports.

What’s my plan?

In the image below is a visual of what my next 4-5 years are going to look like going through the school system and how I am going to be able to leave school and be able to go straight into this profession. I am a visual learner so this really helps with keeping me on track. I did this at the start of 2021 and I haven't really touched it till this time. I now know how much this has helped me guide me to the place I want to go. So there are 3 paths in the image. There is sports, academic and cocurricular. These are all the things I think that are going to help with making it in this profession. So I hope you can see my vision as well.
